Landscaping Is Ready for the Fall at Sonders Fort Collins
There is new natural beauty to enjoy at Sonders Fort Collins! This community of new homes in Fort Collins is home to a number of gorgeous, unique parks, and nearly all of the landscaping is installed in preparation for spring’s bloom.
The incoming, freshly-mown, vibrant green lawns and native trees and plants make Sonders Fort Collins feel like home: a place where you can absorb the natural world at every turn and enjoy every abundant season that Colorado has to offer. With more than 31 acres of open space, five purposeful parks, and miles of trails, Sonders is built to bring you outside.
“Overall, Sonders’ amenities are designed to give residents various ‘points of contact,’” says Bill Swalling, principal of Actual Communities, LLP. “Greeting neighbors as they walk along the trail outside your home. Intentional biophilia that puts nature at your fingertips. Opportunities to learn and grow together with programming at the various Learning Center studios. The planned amenities here are each unique and offer residents multiple mental, physical, and spiritual connections, daily.”
Sonders Fort Collins Has Parks With Purpose
Each of the parks at Sonders Fort Collins has been designed to offer a timeless experience. Parks that you can visit day after day, year after year, and learn something new each time. Nature changes before our eyes and the Sonders parks celebrate those changes.
Flourish Park: An Adventure for the Senses
At Flourish Park, the theme is bloom: you yourself will feel expanded as you take in the experience with all of your senses. Four sensory gardens will invite you to smell, touch, see, and hear the sounds of the natural world as it unfurls around you: the texture of lichen on a boulder, the aromas of lilac and currant, the exploding golden color of a Gingko tree, the tittering song of a bluejay.
And your sense of taste will not be left wanting: a food share area in Flourish Park will host occasional food trucks. The grill and picnic area offer a convenient spot to cook up something you grew in the nearby steel garden troughs, which residents can plant according to their inspiration. Thoughtfully designed seating areas throughout Flourish Park invite you to pause, breathe, and take it all in, whether that’s a meal with a friend or a pleasant moment of solitude.
Sonders Learning Center Park: Centering the Experience
Sonders Learning Center, a multifunctional community hub, will be built around the large and spacious Sonders Learning Center Park.
It was no accident to place nature at the center of these amenities, for nature is the best place to process the learning and growth that will happen in the Learning Center. Take a movement class at the BODY Studio and then visit the park to absorb the benefits of exercise. Take a seat near the park’s open space as you ponder a conversation you had with a neighbor. Watch the clouds to get inspired for your next project at the ARTS Studio. Or, just sit back and bask at the resort-style pool.
Serene Park: A Place to Start, End, or Spend Your Day in Peace
Serene Park is defined by the presence of water: the lapping edge of Richard’s Lake invites you to stay a while, to be settled by the tranquil rhythm of the water, and to take a walk along the shore to fulfill your brain’s need for water experiences on a daily basis. The enhanced shoreline allows residents to rest or get out there with boats and floats for play – whatever the day holds for you.
Evernew Park: Celebrating Sustainability
Sonders Fort Collins is building new homes and parks that give back to the environment, and Evernew Park is where the many sustainable facets of this community are celebrated. Native seed wildflower beds will act as a haven for pollinators and a learning experience in all seasons.
The Oil Jack exhibit that’s unmissable with its Alexander Calder Orange inspired paint color pays homage to the history of energy and the future of our natural resources. Wind turbines and solar flower will collect clean energy, and EV charging stations keep you moving without taxing our planet.
At the Evernew Park Pavilion, visitors will be able to learn about Sonders sustainability features and gather in a place that celebrates treading lightly upon the Earth.
Beyond the Parks
Sonders Fort Collins may have an impressive array of parks, but they aren’t the only way to enjoy the natural world in this community. Practice your stroke at The Greens, a neighborhood park-like setting with putting greens and chipping areas. Choose from a variety of trails, from a brief walk along the water’s edge to a long trek through the forest.
With landscaping installed and ready to pop at Sonders, this community of new homes just outside Old Town Fort Collins is reaching its full expression.
Come experience the intentional design that will charge your senses, engage your mind, and provide the peace that only comes from immersing yourself in nature.
